pH
pH is a measure of how acidic or basic your pool water is. It affects water comfort, equipment health, and how well your chemicals work.
The ideal pH range for a swimming pool is 7.2 – 7.8
What Happens When pH Is Too Low (Acidic) Cause eye and skin irritation. Metal corrosion of metal parts, heaters, ladders, and pump parts. Damage to pool liners and surfaces. Rapid chlorine loss.
What Happens When pH Is Too High (Basic) Cloudy water. Scale buildup on surfaces and equipment. Chlorine becomes less effective. Increased algae growth.
pH increaser is usually sodium carbonate, also known as soda ash.
pH decreaser is typically Muriatic acid (liquid), or Sodium bisulfate (dry acid).
Granular powder that dissolves we recommend dissolving powder in a 5-gallon bucket filled with 4-gallons of water, stir with stick until powder fully dissolved, then add to pool.
Please read bottle or package for dosage instructions!
When handling please wear appropriate PPE, such as gloves, goggles, and masks, to protect your skin, eyes, and respiratory system when handling chemicals. Also wear cloths you don't care about, because chemicals will destroy clothing if in contact.
Keep Chemicals out of reach of children and animals!
