Collection: Cartridge Filters

Cartridge Filters utilize a pleated filter element to capture debris and contaminants down to 10-15 microns, providing a higher level of filtration than sand filters. They require only periodic rinsing or replacement of the cartridge. Cartridges will eventually need to be replaced every 1 to 3 years, depending on usage, water quality, and storage. Additionally, they do not require backwashing, which conserves water.

Cartridges should be checked and cleaned every 1-3 weeks, depending on pool usage and level of debris. Inspect pleats for tears or damage, replace if necessary. 

Recommended that you have an extra filter or two for backup and swapping.

• Pros - Lower water usage, great for those who want clearer water with moderate upkeep, systems are lightweight and easy to handle.
• Cons - higher initial cost, periodic cartridge replacements, little more work compared to sand.

- We also recommend letting your filter system run 24hr/7days, the few dollars spent on the electric bill is tiny compared to having problems and having to spend hundreds or more on chemicals and/or a complete water change. If you don't want your pump to run all day, then we recommend 16on/8off.
